Grief – The Journey through Love’s Shadow

Mr. Doaty has been facilitating GriefShare support groups for the past 15 years. Randy will talk about a different concept of how to view grief: • Grief is “Love’s Shadow” – the dark side of love. This creates a paradox where the complete elimination  of grief would require the complete elimination of love. • Grief is “Love’s Tax” – the price we must pay when we lose, or we are separated from, that which we  have loved. The love tax is never greater than the total love received. • Grief is a PLACE, and Mourning is a PROCESS. We can potentially remain in grief forever if we do not  mourn our losses – staying in love’s shadow and paying the love tax forever.
