Dr. Dan Kimball, M.D.
Dan Kimball was born and raised in Washington DC and is a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences (BA Psychology) and the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia. He spent 25 years with the Army Medical Department and 15 years at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center as the Director of the Department of Medicine, retiring in 2004. He served 9 years on the PA State Board of Medicine, completing his 2nd term in 2004.
He is currently the Chair of the Composite Committee of the United States Medical Licensing Examination and serves on the Step 3 Committee of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the PA Medical Society delegation to the American Medical Association and was recently elected as a specialty trustee for Internal Medicine on the Board of Trustees of the PA Medical Society. He also serves as the Chair of the Health and Public Policy Committee for the PA Chapter of the American College of Physicians. He is a past Chair and current member of the Clinical Ethics Team at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
He is a Stephen Minister and Stephen Leader at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing where he also serves as an assisting minister.
He frequently hosts a local radio show on WEEU, “Health Talk,” for the Berks County Medical Society. He is a trained mediator and member of the American Health Lawyers Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of Threshold Rehabilitation Services Inc., in Reading and the Miller-Keystone Blood Center in Bethlehem PA.
He is retired and lives in Reading with his wife.
