Committees
Our committee’s develop the seminar programs, conferences, community relations, hospitality and enhance our media presence. Please review each of the committees and see where you can apply your expertise. Whether you can give an hour a month or more, involvement in the Circle of Life Coalition is important to our community. Use the contact tab at the top of the page and we will respond promptly.
Education Committee – this committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 11:3OAM at Reading Hospital’s Tower Cafe located off the 5th Avenue lobby. The committee is chaired by Vice-chairperson Margaret Gore, Supportive Services Coordinator, Arbor Management LLC, Penn’s Crossing. The Education Committee develops programs and acquires topics and speakers for our monthly seminars. This committee is unique in concept because they take a closer look at new and innovative topics surrounding end of life care. From Healthcare Reform: A Moving Target, Pet Therapy in Hospice, Griefshare or Suicide Prevention, the Education Committee fulfills our mission statement. Conference Committee – this committee meets the 4th Tuesdays of the month, 11:30AM at the Berkshire Commons Assisted Living located 5485 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. The committee is chaired by Board Member Kim Kostival, Director of Marketing and Admissions for Berkshire Commons. The seminar committee has existed since the inception of this organization in 2000. They focus on new and controversial subject matter and acquire talented professionals for our annual conference. Committee members use their talent and skills in that development and carry the commitment to raise the bar every year. Organizations benefit from membership through the promotion of their programs and services by sponsorship and subsequent publicity. Community Relations Committee – this committee meets the 4th Thursday of the month, 4:30PM at Panera’s Bread Restaurant in Wyomissing. The committee is chaired by Carly Krick, Marketing Manager at the Manor at Market Square in Reading. The Community Relations Committee tackles the unique process of promoting an organization that may be difficult for the community to embrace. This requires a different perspective on marketing which culminates into innovative marketing concepts not yet implemented within our community. Hospitality Committee – this committee’s enjoyable responsibilities do not involve monthly meetings. The committee is chaired by Board Member Joyce Christman, Congregational Health Ministries Coordinator at Adventist WholeHealth Network in Wyomissing, who is assisted in the Hospitality functions by Board Secretary Anne Nuss, Outpatient Social Worker at TRHMC Regional Cancer Center in Reading. Hospitality responsibilities include providing signage and a personal welcome for attendees of the Coalition’s seminars and conferences, follow-up contact with first-time attendees, and expressions of gratitude to our seminar presenters and sponsors. Media Relations – this committee is responsible for developing social media for the Coalition. The committee is chaired by Board Member Peter Giatrelis, Owner of Utopia Home Care in Wyomissing. Through this committee, Peter develops and maintains our Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin accounts as well as development in other social media outlets. Growth and Retention – This committee is in development. It’s purpose will be to develop strategies necessary to grow the Coalition’s volunteers and members. Coming soon.
We welcome those who may be interested in contributing their skills and talents to assist us in the fulfillment of our mission statement which is “The Circle Of Life Coalition educates the community and professionals on all aspects of end of life care”.
